The style of our radio drama is going to be loosely based on the style of Sin City, we were hoping to create a dark and unforgiving atmosphere in which these characters and story lines can evolve. The story almost necessitates a dark atmosphere given the abundance of "space rape!" that occurs within our narrative.
With the plot line being essentially a story of revenge and pain we wanted to create a sort of Wild West world for these characters. For example the protagonists " The Sheriff ", for his character to be able to reach his full potential within the story line we need a world that has a lawless aspect to it.
Taking these things in to consideration this is why we chose a Sin City style, a world in which one rogue renegade can take justice in to his own hands without care or fear of ramifications. This is partly the reason we decided to set this story in the far reaches of the galaxy.
Everyone knows its hard to police and legislate within a galaxy system with so many places to hide and conduct your business. So this, in our opinion, would be the perfect place for our story to exists.
Also from a production point of view I think it wont be "easy" but the ability and range of sound effects etc we have at our disposal, given the story is set in space, will be plentiful. This will help us make the story as authentic and professional as we can.
